De La Salle Zobel standout Maco Dabao has committed to San Beda University in the NCAA.
Dabao and Red Lions head coach Yuri Escueta confirmed the move to GMA News Online.
“I was really weighing my options on which school could give me the most opportunities, and San Beda was very clear with what they have planned for me. That is why I chose San Beda,” the Zobel guard told GMA News Online in a message.
“I’m excited for what the future holds.”
Dabao, a member of the UAAP Season 88 boys’ basketball Mythical Team, averaged 17.29 points, 5.93 rebounds, 2.21 assists, and 2.5 steals to lead the Junior Archers to their first Final Four appearance in nine years.
The 19-year-old, ranked as the second-best high school player by the National Basketball Training Center, will join the likes of Nygel Gonzales and Penny Estacio as the Red Lions look to defend their NCAA title.
