NCAA Finals MVP Justin Cargo stays with Letran, moves up to seniors team

NCAA Season 101 juniors basketball Finals Most Valuable Player Justin Cargo is staying with Colegio de San Juan de Letran after committing to join the school’s seniors team.

Cargo told GMA News Online on Thursday that he believes Letran is the best place for him to continue developing as a player.

“Pinili ko po mag-stay sa Letran kasi po feel ko dito ako magagamit,” Cargo said.

“Napamahal na rin po ako sa Letran at [para] ma-guide din po ako nang mga kuya ko dito.”

During the Season 101 preliminary round, Cargo averaged 9.23 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.38 assists, and 1.54 steals per game.

In the Finals, Cargo scored 12 points and grabbed four rebounds in Game 1 before erupting for 17 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and one steal in Game 2 to help the Squires defeat Arellano University.

Cargo is set to join holdovers Titing Manalili, Jovel Baliling, and Jimboy Estrada for Season 102.
