Aside from their talent in their chosen sports, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athletes Allan Martin and Carol Galeno are proving they can excel in other aspects of their lives as well.
Take for example, Emilio Aguinaldo College basketball player Martin, who is also good at cooking.
"'Yung family namin, ano talaga, more on sa food business. 'Yung father ko, mahilig din magluto. Siya nagluluto talaga. Pag tinatanong ko siya kung paano gawin to, tina-try ko," he said in an episode of 'Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96' on Saturday.
He also helped his family in setting up a food business when the pandemic happened to serve as an additional source of income.
Meanwhile, Lyceum of the Philippines University volleyball player Galeno is excelling in her academics. The incoming 4th year student said she is a consistent Dean's Lister since her first year in college.
For her, time management and discipline are the keys to excelling both in sports and academics.
"Di po ako lumalabas. Lagi lang po akong nasa dorm, nasa laptop, nagbabasa," said Galeno.
