Arellano University (AU) will have a shot at the gold medal in the NCAA Season 96 online chess tournament after one of its students in the seniors division won the semifinals match aired on Monday.
AU's Ancheta defeated De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde's Adrian Othniel Yulo to advance to the Finals.
Ancheta will wait for the winner of the remaining bracket composed of Lyceum of the Philippines University's Neymark Digno and University of Perpetual Help System DALTA's Carl Zirex Sato.
Yulo, meanwhile, will be relegated to the battle for third.
