EAC open hitter Lauren Cabrera shares real-life lessons from the volleyball court

For an athlete like Lauren Cabrera of the Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), limits should not be considered as a hindrance in achieving one's goal.

Instead, she said it should challenge a person to think of other ways to do things.

"For me, one's attitude is really important because it shows who a person really is," Cabrera said in Chino Trinidad's "24 Oras" report on Thursday.

"If your attitude is that you are determined to do one thing, you will not think negatively of limits. Instead, you'll be challenged to think, 'What can I do more?'"

Apart from attitude, one lesson in life she takes into heart is about unity—a lesson she learned from their head coach Rod Palmero.

"Even if our team committed errors, as long as we are one, at least we committed it as a team. If things turn positive eventually, then we are still together. Everyone will eventually be better," said Cabrera.

The psychology student, who dreams of becoming a lawyer one day, said she is focusing on her studies and helping her family while community quarantines are implemented in the country.

Watch out for Cabrera and the rest of the EAC Lady Generals in the upcoming season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which will be aired on different platforms of GMA Network.

Get to know more as well about players, coaches, and the teams in the NCAA in "Rise Up Stronger: The Road to NCAA Season 96" which will air starting May 23 on GTV.
