Three-time defending champion Arellano University will look to solidify its grip on the second spot when it takes on struggling University of Perpetual Help System Help DALTA on Saturday in the NCAA Season 97 women's volleyball tournament.

Arellano, which currently flaunts a 5-1 win-loss card, will tangle with Perpetual at 12 p.m. which will be followed by the clash between Colegio de San Juan de Letran and Emilio Aguinaldo College at 2:30 p.m.

The Lady Chiefs are expected to come out inspired, especially after having won their last three games against Lyceum of the Philippines University, Jose Rizal University, and Letran.

The wards of head coach Obet Javier, whose main goal this season is to bag a rare four-peat gem, will continue to rely on team captain Carla Donato who put up a 16-point outing the previous game as well as Princess Bello and Charmina Diño.

But still, Javier said they are not to treat Perpetual lightly.

"Malaking bagay 'to (panalo sa Letran) kasi kung titignan natin, 'yung mga teams ngayon hindi mo masabi kung sino 'yung talagang mage-excel," said Javier.

"Halos lahat pare-pareho eh so kami, kahit papaano, sine-swerte pa kami."

Meanwhile, both Letran and EAC will look for their second win of the season when they collide later in the day.

Letran, prior to losing to Arellano and Lyceum, had edged rival San Beda University to take its maiden victory while EAC recently escaped Lyceum as well in four sets to snap a dismal 0-5 start.
