The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA took down the Lyceum of the Philippines University as both the men's and women's teams remained perfect in the NCAA Season 98 beach volleyball tournament during the morning session on Wednesday in Subic, Zambales.
The Lady ALTAs duo of Mary Rhose Dapol and Janine Padua defeated the Lady Pirates in straight sets, 21-13, 21-17, while the men's side composed of Louie Ramirez and Jefferson Marapoc dominated the Pirates with a 21-8, 21-15 victory.
Emilio Aguinaldo College also retained their clean sheet after surviving De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in a three-setter, 21-16, 18-21, 15-7, to notch their third win in the women's division. On the men's side, the Generals defeated the Blazers in a sweep, 21-18, 21-12 to go 3-0 in the tournament.
In the other morning games of the women's tournament, LPU opened the games with a win over Mapua University, 21-14, 21-19, while San Sebastian College-Recoletos outlasted Arellano University in three sets, 14-21, 21-17, 19-17. San Beda University beat Jose Rizal University, 21-12, 21-19, while Colegio de San Juan de Letran capped the session with a sweep of the Lady Chiefs, 21-4, 21-13.
On the men's side, Mapua took down LPU in a three-setter, 21-18, 20-22, 15-11, while Arellano swept San Sebastian 21-13, 21-17. San Beda completed a comeback against JRU, 10-21, 21-15, 15-13, while Arellano defeated Letran 21-9, 21-17.
Games will resume this afternoon.
