University of Perpetual Help System DALTA extended its spotless run in the NCAA Season 98 beach volleyball tournament after going perfect in the afternoon session of Day 2 on Wednesday in Subic, Zambales.
Perpetual's men's beach volleyball team swept De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, 21-15, 21-13, to go 5-0 in the latest standings. The ALTAs earlier defeated winless Lyceum of the Philippines University with a similar 2-0 triumph behind the duo of Louie Ramirez and Jefferson Marapoc.
In other games in the men's division, Emilio Aguinaldo College also kept its unbeaten run intact after pulling off a 21-19, 21-18 victory over San Sebastian College-Recoletos with Ralph Joshua Pitogo and Joshua Ramilo sweeping EAC in 40 minutes.
Mapua University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, and San Beda University also took care of their respective assignment.
Mapua escaped Benilde in a thriller, 19-21, 21-18, 15-11, while Letran also survived Jose Rizal University after a 16-21, 21-15, 17-15 conquest. San Beda added to Lyceum's woes after a 21-17, 21-19 dominance as the Mendiola crew improved to a 3-2 slate.
In the women's division, Perpetual remained undefeated as well.
Mary Rhose Dapol and Janine Padua stretched their dominance, dominating the tandem of Harem Ceballos and Alona Caguicla of Arellano University, 21-19, 21-18, to hike their standing to a clean 5-0.
Letran's Chamberlaine Cuñada and Lara Mae Silva kept Jose Rizal University winless after a 21-15, 21-7 victory over Karyla Rafaella Jasareno and Marrianne Aloña while San Beda swept Lyceum, 21-19, 21-14, to go 3-1.
Benilde and EAC, on the other hand, pulled off wins over Mapua and San Sebastian, respectively, to cap off the second day of the tournament.
