Perpetual aims for twin sweeps in NCAA beach volleyball Finals against EAC men's, Letran women's teams | NCAA Philippines

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA teams continued their respective perfect runs as both the men's and women's teams booked tickets to the NCAA Season 98 beach volleyball Finals on Saturday in Subic, Zambales.

 

 

The top-seeded Lady ALTAs duo of Mary Rhose Dapol and Janine Padua swept no. 4 San Beda University's Trisha Paras and Maxine Tayag, 21-17, 21-10, in the semifinals to dethrone the Lady Red Spikers and advance to the Finals.

Colegio de San Juan de Letran's Cha Cuñada and Lara Mae Silva, meanwhile, made quick work of Emilio Aguinaldo College's Cath Almazan and Monna Bañares, 21-8, 21-6, to set up a duel with the unbeaten Lady ALTAs.

Perpetual and Letran had twice-to-beat bonuses in the semifinals being the top two teams at the end of the elimination round.

On the men's side, the twice-to-beat Perpetual pair of Louie Ramirez and Jefferson Marapoc swept San Beda's Aidijen Josh Rus and Mohammad Tahluddin, 21-18, 21-11.

The ALTAs will face the EAC duo of Ralph Joshua Pitogo and Joshua Ramilo who outlasted Arellano University's Adrian Villadon and Arman Guinto in a three-setter, 21-15, 18-21, 18-16. The Generals, who also had a semis bonus, are aiming for their third straight title in men's beach volleyball.

Games will resume this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with the men's finals first before the women's championship at 4:00 pm.
