Letran survives late San Beda rally for straight sets victory

 

Colegio de San Juan de Letran survived a late rally from San Beda University to take a straight sets victory, 25-20, 25-23, 28-26, on Sunday in the NCAA Season 98 women's volleyball tournament.

Letran opened the third set with a 12-1 lead before the Lady Red Spikers caught up and tied the set at 19. The set reached extended play until two straight points from Judiel Nitura sealed the deal for the Lady Knights.

Daisy Melendres tallied 15 points off eight attacks, five blocks, and two aces, while Nitura had eight points.

Kleiner Ross Abraham and Chynna Castillo tallied 10 points apiece for San Beda.

Letran will face Mapua University next on Friday, while San Beda will go against Arellano University on Wednesday.
