Romero, Ramilo star as EAC sweeps Benilde in wild finish | NCAA Philippines

Marvin Romero and Joshua Ramilo joined forces as Emilio Aguinaldo College swept De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde in a wild ending, 25-14, 25-22, 25-23 in the NCAA Season 98 men’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday.

Romero led the way with 14 points while Ramilo was effective on both sides, churning out 10 markers alongside eight digs and five receptions.

Up by two sets, EAC suddenly found itself down by three in the third set, 21-18, as the game was delayed for at least 30 minutes due to a jersey number issue regarding EAC open hitter Beyan Cabrera.

After a thorough review, the league decided to remove Cabrera from the game but he will be able to play again in their next games.

The Generals, though, didn’t let the lull take their minds off the game as they regained the lead, 24-22, after a John Michael Paglaon kill.

Ralph Pitogi then went for a quick to seal the clean victory for EAC.

Earlier, Arellano University escaped San Beda University in tight fashion, 25-23, 26-24, 22-25, 23-25, 16-14.

Carl Berdal once again starred for the Chiefs with a whopping 34 points and 22 receptions while Arman Guinto chipped in 14 as Arellano improved to 2-0.

San Beda dropped to an even 1-1 card.
