Mapua University, in another five-setter, completed a comeback and took down Arellano University, 21-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-21, 15-11 on Saturday in the NCAA Season 98 women's volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
After going down two sets, Mapua made a reverse sweep of Arellano to take their fourth win.
Arellano got close, down 11-10, in the final set before Mapua pulled away and took the victory.
Rookies stood out for Mapua as Roxie dela Cruz had 19 points anchored on 17 attacks and two aces while Gregchelle Cabadin had 15 points. to improve Mapua's standings to 4-1.
Laika Tudlasan, on the other hand, had 23 points (21 attacks and two aces) in the loss which brought Arellano to 3-2.
Mapua will face De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde next on Tuesday, while Arellano will play San Sebastian College-Recoletos on Wednesday.
