Perpetual downs San Sebastian in four sets; San Beda makes quick work of JRU | NCAA Philippines

 

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA for the first time dropped a set this season in the NCAA Season 98 men's volleyball tournament but still managed to defeat the San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 24-26, 25-17, 25-21, 25-19, on Sunday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

The last time the defending champions dropped a set was back in January 29, 2020 where they won against the Arellano Chiefs in a four-setter, 28-26, 23-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Joshua Zareno stood out for the ALTAs with 23 points off 19 attacks, two aces, and two blocks to maintain the Las Piñas-based squad's perfect record.

 

 

Earlier, San Beda University swept Jose Rizal University, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18, with Ralph Cabalsa making 20 points for the Red Spikers.

Perpetual (5-0) will go against San Beda (3-2) on Friday, while San Sebastian (2-3) will face Arellano University on Wednesday. JRU, on the other hand, Colegio de San Juan de Letran also on Wednesday.
