Mapua University bucked a first-set loss against Emilio Aguinaldo College, 14-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23, to notch its fifth win in the NCAA Season 98 women's volleyball tournament on Saturday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
Gregchelle Cabadin led the Lady Cardinals with 16 points (13 points, 2 aces, 1 block), while Tere Manalo added 16 points of her own to improve Mapua's standings to 5-2.
Krizzia Reyes made 20 points in the losing effort which brought down EAC to 1-5.
Mapua hopes to bolster its Final Four bid as it faces San Beda University next on Wednesday, before wrapping its elimination round campaign against University of Perpetual Help System DALTA on Sunday.
EAC, on the other hand, will try to end the season on a good note as they play San Sebastian College-Recoletos on Tuesday and Jose Rizal University on Friday.
