Letran completes reverse sweep vs. Benilde for back-to-back wins

Colegio de San Juan de Letran overcame a sluggish start to stun De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde with a reverse sweep, 26-28, 19-25, 25-21, 25-23, 15-11, in the NCAA Season 99 men's volleyball tournament on Sunday.

The Knights flipped the switch after dropping the first two sets to bag their second straight win and improve to 3-2 while the Blazers absorbed their second loss in a row to go 1-4.

Starring for the Muralla crew was the trio of Steven Sta. Maria, Vince Himzon, and John Derrick Bautista.

Sta. Maria unloaded a game-high 26 points anchored on 24 attacks and two aces while Himzon uncorked 21 markers built on 20 attacks and one ace as they joined San Sebastian at fifth spot. Bautista, on the other hand, chipped in 19 points and 23 excellent receptions.

James Marasigan paced Benilde with a whopping double-double of 22 points and 33 receptions on top of six digs, but his efforts went down the drain as they sustained their fourth loss.
