San Sebastian College-Recoletos made quick work of Jose Rizal University, 25-17, 25-15, 25-21, to barge into the win column of the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament on Friday at the Arellano University gym in Manila.
In a match which lasted for an hour and nine minutes, Kyle Villamor led the Golden Stags with 18 points anchored on nine excellent digs and six excellent receptions, while Joshua Espenida added 15 points as San Sebastian improved to 1-3. Jan Kerk Arano, meanwhile, had 18 out of San Sebastian's 20 excellent sets.
Paolo Barrientos, on the other hand, led JRU with 13 points and 10 excellent receptions. The Heavy Bombers, however, remained winless in five games.
Earlier, the Lady Stags also swept JRU, 25-19, 25-20, 25-23, to bounce back after their loss to De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
Veteran Tina Marasigan led the Lady Stags with 18 points all from attacks, while Kath Santos added 12 points. Von Dimaculangan had 18 out of San Sebastian's 20 excellent sets as the Lady Stags improved to 3-1.
Kyla Jasareno led JRU with nine points while Kring Batara had eight points for the Lady Bombers who slipped to 1-4.
San Sebastian will face the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA on Thursday, while JRU will play Mapua University next week.
