Perpetual Lady Altas defend home court, survives Letran in five-setter

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA defended home court at the expense of visiting Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 23-25, 25-23, 14-25, 25-22, 15-13, on Thursday in the NCAA Season 100 women's volleyball tournament at the Lady Altas' gym in Las Piñas City.

In front of their proud schoolmates, the Lady Altas took the provisional top spot as they improved to 7-1, while the Lady Knights slipped to 6-2.

Shai Omipon had 17 points, all from attacks, to go with 17 excellent receptions to be among Perpetual's leaders, while veteran Winnie Bedaña had 18 points. Jem Menor, meanwhile, had 14 points.

Judiel Nitura had 18 points, while Vanessa Sarie's triple-double performance of 15 points, 22 excellent digs, and 13 excellent receptions went for naught.

Perpetual, who had its first loss against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde last week, will take on surging Mapua University on Saturday.

Letran, meanwhile, will cap its first round campaign on April 11 against San Sebastian College-Recoletos.
