The streaking teams of Arellano University took down their respective counterparts in Emilio Aguinaldo College to end their first round campaign with victories in the NCAA Season 100 volleyball tournament on Thursday at the San Sebastian College-Recoletos gym.
In the women's division, the Lady Chiefs swept the Lady Generals, 25-19, 25-19, 25-16, for their fourth straight victory.
Pauline De Guzman had 15 points, while Laika Tudlasan added 10 points as the Arellano women's team capped the first round with a 6-3 win-loss record.
Jing Alimen had 10 points to lead EAC who slipped to 2-7.
Meanwhile in the men's side, the Chiefs defeated the Generals, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16, to also notch their fourth straight victory.
AC Guinto led 16 points, while Carl Berdal had 14 points as the Chiefs closed the first round with a 6-3 record.
Ruther Abor had 21 points, while Frelwin Taculog added 18 points as EAC ended their first round run with a 3-6 record.
After Friday's remaining games, NCAA volleyball is expected to return for its second round after the Holy Week break.
