Emilio Aguinaldo College was dealt a huge blow as top scorer Ruther Abor is set to be sidelined for an indefinite period of time following an injury amid the Generals' NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball campaign.
EAC head coach Rod Palmero revealed that the veteran outside spiker sustained a Grade 2 ankle sprain on his left foot in their training during the Holy Week break.
His return, though, remains up in the air as Palmero shared they are still awaiting the result of his laboratory tests, which will determine whether he can suit up again for the struggling Generals.
"Ankle sprain. Hindi pa sigurado, medyo mataas kasi nasa Grade 2 ‘yung sprain niya eh. Left. Sa training niya nakuha," Palmero told GMA News Online on Saturday.
"Hindi pa sure ang return niya kasi wala pang sinasabi si PT kasi ‘yung laboratory test niya hinihintay pa ‘yung result."
Abor, the league's eighth top scorer, has already missed two games in the second round against two contenders Mapua University and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
The Generals absorbed a 25-17, 21-25, 25-16, 25-23 loss to the undefeated Cardinals before running out of steam against the Blazers in five sets on Saturday to fall to a 3-8 card.
