De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde handed Emilio Aguinaldo College a reality check, cruising to a dominant 25-22,. 25-12, 25-10, in the NCAA Season 100 women's volleyball on Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.
The Lady Blazers leaned on middle blocker Zam Nolasco, who dropped 16 points anchored on 13 attacks and three blocks, as they improved to 9-2 while the Lady Generals, who were coming off a morale-boosting win over Mapua University last Wednesday, slipped to 3-8.
EAC, though, did put up a gallant stand in the opening frame with Alex Razonable bringing the Lady Generals to a 19-16 cushion to give the defending champions a scare.
The Lady Blazers felt the surge of urgency to tie things up at 21-all before Nolasco completed a quick play that sent the Lady Blazers to the set point at 24-22 lead. It was also Nolasco who sealed the first set with another quick attack over just one blocker.
Benilde then just dominated the Lady Generals in the next two sets to get its second consecutive wins.
Wielyn Estoque added eight points veteran and team captain Mycah Go chipped in seven markers in their balanced offense.
