Judiel Nitura and Gia Maquilang led Colegio de San Juan de Letran past Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23 on Friday in the NCAA Season 100 women's volleyball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
Nitura had 18 points from 15 attacks, two blocks, and an ace, while Maquilang had 17 points from 15 attacks and two blocks as the Lady Knights improved to 11-2 in the standings.
While the two led the Lady Knights in offense, it was Sarie who performed in clutch time to claim the win.
The Lady Pirates were attempting to extend the match as the two teams were tied at 21 in the third set. Vanessa Sarie's attack, however, broke the deadlock before Johna Dolorito answered to tie the set again.
Sarie then scored two more for Letran before Ashley Muchillas salvaged a match point. In the end, it was Sarie who sealed the victory.
Sarie had 12 points and 10 digs in the said win.
Muchillas, meanwhile, had 12 points for LPU while Joan Doguna and Johna Dolorito had nine and eight points, respectively as LPU's five-game winning streak was cut. The Lady Pirates hold a 6-7 record.
Letran will take on San Sebastian College-Recoletos on Tuesday, while LPU will go against San Beda University on Wednesday.
