Benilde snaps San Sebastian's three-game win streak in NCAA men's volleyball

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde made quick work of San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 25-19, 29-27, 25-19, on Saturday in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.

After a tight second set, Benilde had an early 12-6 lead in the third set and with momentum on their side, the Blazers cruised to a 23-16 lead before Kyle Villamor and a Benilde attack error put San Sebastian within five. Motol put Benilde at match point but a net fault on the Blazers' end delayed the win. In the end, James Marasigan put the exclamation point for the green-and-white squad.

Rocky Roy Motol and Jacob Agassi Herrera led the Blazers in offense with 16 and 15 points respectively, with Motol having 22 excellent receptions and six excellent digs as the Taft-based squad improved to 10-2.

The win spoiled Kyle Villamor's 21-point outing as the Golden Stags' three-game win streak was cut and they slipped to 4-9.

San Sebastian will take on Letran, while Benilde will face Arellano University on Tuesday.
