Cyrille Almeniana picked up where she left off, steering University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to a dominant 25-19, 25-21, 25-21 Jose Rizal University in the NCAA Season 101 women's volleyball on Wednesday at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The high-flying opposite hitter stayed on a tear, unloading 18 points anchored on 16 attacks and two aces for a strong follow-up to her 27-point outburst last Sunday that lifted the Lady ALTAs to their first win against Benilde since 2019.
Outside spikers Jemalyn Menor and Shai Omipon provided the help by contributing 14 and 11 markers, respectively, while middle blocker Charisse Enrico chipped in eight points.
With the win, Perpetual improved to 2-0 in Group A while JRU fell to a 0-2 card.
Perpetual broke a 10-all deadlock in Set 3 by unleashing an 8-3 rampage capped by a second-touch attack from setter Fifi Ariola for an 18-13 cushion. However, the Lady Bombers staged a resistance with Czarina Ramos scoring three points as part of a 4-1 run, 17-19.
A pair of errors from Perpetual and a quick kill from Gayle Batara allowed JRU to tie it all up at 21-all.
Perpetual, though, kept its cool down the stretch, uncorking a decisive 4–0 closing run.
JRU middle blocker Julia Dimatawaran missed wide on her serve, then Omipon ripped a crosscourt kill from the left wing to put the ALTAs ahead, 23–21. Batara followed with a misfired quick attack before Omipon closed it out by using Batara's hands on her kill.
Ramos top-scored JRU with 12 points together with five digs while Nicole Deala and Dimatawaran chipped in 11 and nine markers apiece.
