NCAA: Perpetual Lady Altas sweep San Sebastian to go 3-0; Altas break through in men’s volleyball

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA swept San Sebastian College–Recoletos, 25-20, 28-26, 25-18, to improve to 3-0 in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament on Sunday.

Jem Menor led the Lady Altas with 13 points, while Shai Omipon added 12 points along with 10 digs and nine receptions. Setter Fianne Ariola anchored Perpetual’s offense with 19 of the team’s 20 excellent sets, nearly double the 10 recorded by San Sebastian’s Jercine Balajadia.

Kath Santos and Christina Marasigan scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, for the Lady Stags, who dropped to 1-3 in Group A.

In the men’s division, the Altas secured their breakthrough win with a 25-16, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21 victory over San Sebastian.

Khian Andres paced Perpetual with 17 points, while Marc Tangon and Jester Bornel contributed 15 points apiece as the Altas earned their first win after two losses.

Kyle Villamor also finished with 17 points for San Sebastian, while Ellemar Dullete added 11, as the Stags fell to 2-2.
