NCAA: San Sebastian sweeps EAC for second win in women's volleyball; Generals outlast Stags in five-setter

The San Sebastian College-Recoletos Lady Stags secured their second victory in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament after sweeping Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-23, 28-26, 25-16, on Friday at the San Andres Sports Complex.

Kath Santos spearheaded the Lady Stags’ offense with 21 points built on 19 attacks, along with seven digs. Christina Marasigan added nine points as San Sebastian improved to 2-5 in Group A.

Angel Joy Perez paced the still-winless EAC with 16 points.

Earlier, the EAC Generals mounted a comeback to defeat San Sebastian in a five-set thriller, 19-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 15-12.

Ruther Abor led EAC with 26 points on 24 attacks and two blocks, while four other players finished in double figures.

Michael Gela and Ralph Cristian Tamayo scored 14 points each, Joshua Olivo contributed 13, and Frelwin Taculog chipped in 10 points along with 25 excellent receptions. Edward Rosagaran made 26 out of EAC's 27 excellent sets.

Kyle Villamor led San Sebastian with 21 points, while Ellemar Dullete added 19.

With the win, EAC improved to 5-2 in Group B, while San Sebastian dropped to 3-4.
