Colegio de San Juan de Letran bounced back with a straight-sets victory over Jose Rizal University, 25-18, 25-19, 25-11, in the NCAA Season 101 men’s volleyball tournament on Friday at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The win snapped a two-game losing skid for the Knights, who previously fell to San Beda University and the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA.
Bembem Bautista paced Letran with 15 points built on 13 attacks, an ace, and a block. Dave Laridzabal and Vince Himzon added 13 and 12 points, respectively, in the match that lasted just one hour and 15 minutes.
John Wayne Arano orchestrated the offense with all 21 of Letran’s excellent sets.
Jeff Macalacad led JRU with 10 points.
With the victory, Letran improved to 3-3 in Group B, while JRU dropped to 1-6 in Group A.
Letran returns to action on Sunday against San Sebastian College-Recoletos, while JRU faces Arellano University on Wednesday.
