Jem Menor took over on both ends after rallying University of Perpetual Help System DALTA to a 25-14, 24-26, 25-19, 25-22 win over Arellano University in the NCAA Season 101 women's volleyball on Saturday at the San Andres Sports Complex.
The sophomore outside spiker dropped 26 points and 13 receptions to help the Lady ALTAs bounce back from their first loss last time against Colegio de San Juan de Letran and improve to 6-1 in Group A. The Lady Chiefs, meanwhile, sustained their second loss in a row to go 2-4 in Group B.
Veteran Shai Omipon dropped 12 points and 12 receptions while Cha Enrico and Cyrille Almeniana each chipped in 11 markers with the latter also grabbing 17 digs.
Menor unleashed back-to-back attacks that made it a 14-10 lead for Perpetual in Set 4, but Heart Villaflores was brought in by coach Obet Javier to spark the rally. Villaflores converted three attacks as part of a 4-1 rampage, trimming Arellano's deficit to just one, 17-18.
Arellano would tie things up at 20-all when Geraldine Palacio committed a service error and Sam Tiratira rejected Menor. Perpetual, though, answered with a 3-0 swing capped by a Tiratira attack infraction as the Lady ALTAs cruised to a comfortable 23-20 cushion.
Moming Padillon fueled another Arellano fightback after hammering two straight kills, but Menor punished the Lafy Chiefs from the opposite side before Omipon finished it off from the other side as Perpetual avoided the collapse to complete the four-set romp.
Crisanta Servidad paced Arellano with 13 points while Padillon tallied nine markers.
