De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde returned to the win column after sweeping University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19, in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball tournament on Friday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
The Lady Blazers needed just one hour and 17 minutes to complete the straight-sets victory, avenging their first-round loss to the Lady ALTAs.
Veterans Clydel Catarig and Zam Nolasco paced the Taft-based squad with 16 points each, while rookie Cam Bartolome chipped in 13 points in the win.
Shekaina Lleses contributed seven points along with 11 digs and 11 receptions, while Chenae Basarte orchestrated the offense with 19 of Benilde’s 21 excellent sets.
Jem Menor scored 16 points for Perpetual, whose three-game winning streak came to an end.
Benilde returns to action Tuesday against San Sebastian College-Recoletos, while Perpetual takes on Jose Rizal University on Sunday.
