NCAA: Perpetual sweeps San Sebastian, clinches men’s volleyball QF bonus

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA swept San Sebastian College-Recoletos, 26-24, 25-21, 25-17, on Friday at the San Andres Sports Complex to clinch a twice-to-beat advantage in the NCAA Season 101 men’s volleyball quarterfinals.

The win improved the ALTAs’ record to 9-3, assuring them of a spot in the top two of Pool A with one preliminary round game still remaining.

John Castil led Perpetual with 15 points and six digs, while Jester Bornel added 14 points for the Las Piñas-based squad.

Kyle Villamor, meanwhile, scored 15 points to lead the Stags, who slipped to 5-8 to wrap up their preliminary round campaign.

The loss dropped San Sebastian to the bottom two of Pool A, sending the Stags to a play-in match against Jose Rizal University.

Perpetual will close its preliminary round schedule against Mapua University on Sunday.
