San Sebastian College-Recoletos dispatched Jose Rizal University, 25-23, 12-25, 25-17, 25-22, on Friday in the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball play-in at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila to advance to the quarterfinals.
The Lady Stags bounced back from a dismal second-set performance, regrouping to claim the next two frames and secure a spot in the postseason after nearly two hours of action.
Juna May Gonzales led San Sebastian with 23 points and 12 digs, while Kath Santos and Tina Marasigan added 15 points apiece to keep the Lady Stags’ campaign alive. Jercine Mae Balajadia also orchestrated the offense with 25 out of San Sebastian's 26 excellent sets.
Czarina Ramos paced JRU with 22 points and 10 receptions, while Nicole Deala chipped in 16 points and 17 digs in the Lady Bombers’ final match of the season.
San Sebastian will next face Group B leader and twice-to-beat Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the quarterfinals.
