NCAA: Letran stays alive, sweeps LPU to reach men’s volleyball QF

Colegio de San Juan de Letran stayed alive in the NCAA Season 101 men’s volleyball tournament after sweeping Lyceum of the Philippines University, 25-14, 25-16, 25-20, in their play-in match on Friday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.

The Knights needed just about an hour to dispatch the Pirates and book a quarterfinal berth.

Vince Himzon led Letran with 13 points, including three aces and a block. John Francis Santiagudo and Maximuz Lopez added 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Jun Frank Edang was the lone double-digit scorer for LPU with 16 points.

Letran will face Group A leader and twice-to-beat University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in the quarterfinals.
