NCAA: Benilde outlasts Perpetual, inches closer to fifth straight women’s volleyball finals

De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde outlasted the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, 25-17, 18-25, 25-27, 25-19, 15-8, in Game 1 of the NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball semifinals on Sunday at the Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor, Cavite.

The win put the Lady Blazers a victory away from their fifth straight finals appearance as they continue their bid for a fifth consecutive title.

Zam Nolasco had 28 points built on 21 attacks and seven blocks to lead the Taft-based squad, while Kai Lleses added 16 points, 17 receptions, and 15 digs. Clydel Catarig, meanwhile, contributed 15 points.

Jem Menor and Shai Omipon had 18 points apiece for Perpetual.

Game 2 of the best-of-three semifinals will be played on Wednesday at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila.
