Galeries selects Lams Lamina first overall in 2026 PVL Draft

The Galeries Tower Highrisers selected Camilla Lamina with the top overall pick in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Rookie Draft held at the Novotel Manila Araneta City on Wednesday.

Lamina, a two-time UAAP Best Setter from National University, led the 38 other aspirants in this year's edition, joining ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles' Thea Gagate and Capital1 Solar Spikers' Bella Belen in the PVL's select group of first overall picks since the league's inaugural draft in 2024.

"For me, siyempre fulfilling kasi, 'Wow, ako 'yung isa sa mga napili nila, ng Team Galeries.' It shows 'yung trust na ako po talaga 'yung napili. I'm very happy, very grateful," Lamina said.

While her final playing year ended in heartbreak as NU finished runner-up in UAAP Season 88, she is determined to bring the Lady Bulldogs' championship culture to the squad.

"Since I'm from a champion team, which is NU, siyempre ang mabibigay ko lang, ang mao-offer ko po sa Team Galeries is kung gaano ako ka-competitive maglaro inside and outside the court, and siyempre 'yung hard work, discipline, and work ethic ko," she added.

A total of 11 players were selected in this year's draft.
