Around 30,000 Filipinos visit Manila North Cemetery ahead of Undas 2025

Some 30,000 Filipinos visited Manila North Cemetery on Sunday, a week before All Saints' Day (Undas), to visit the tombs of their departed loved ones.

The management of Manila North Cemetery said they got surprised at the volume of visitors, according to a report by GMA Integrated News reporter Jonathan Andal on Super Radyo dzBB.

They thought visitors would start coming in droves on October 28 or 29.

They said the wellness break declared by the Department of Education (DepEd) for both teachers and learners on October 27 to 30 may have been a factor in the decision of many to go to Manila North Cemetery earlier.

Traffic was heavy on Sunday and vehicles slowed to a crawl from the entrance to get inside the cemetery.

Some burials were also being held on Sunday. The last day for burials before Undas is on Tuesday, October 28.

The Manila North Cemetery will be open on October 29 to November 2 from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Vehicles will no longer be allowed inside the cemetery starting October 29.

Cleanup of tombs meanwhile will only be allowed until Monday, October 27.

The management of the cemetery advised the public to check their Puntod Locator on their website in case they are looking for the location of their departed loved ones' tombs.

Meanwhile, at the Manila North Cemetery Columbarium, some people were also seen paying their respects to their departed loved ones, according to Super Radyo dzBB reporter Luisito Santos.
