Gilas Pilipinas to face China to open Asian Games classification campaign
Despite bowing out of the medal picture, the Gilas Pilipinas campaign in the Asian Games isn't over quite yet.
The Philippines will still play classification matches to determine their final ranking, with a fifth place finish still possible for the squad.
Gilas is set to face defending champion China, which finished with a 1-2 card in Group G, after losing to Japan and Iran.
The game is scheduled on Monday at 3:15 p.m. Manila time.
The Philippines last faced China in the FIBA Asia Cup last July, when Paul Lee hit three free throws with no time remaining to lift Gilas to a bronze medal finish.
The winner of the China-Philippines match will then clash with the winner of the Mongolia-Qatar game on Wednesday. — JST, GMA News
