Paul Harris on the Alabang Country Club Fairways

In cooperation with Megaworld Corporation and with GMANews.tv as the exclusive media partner, the Rotary Club of Makati Ayala (RCMA) is hosting the 14th Paul Harris Cup at the Alabang Country Club on the last Friday of the month, November 26. Registration and tee-off start at 6:00 a.m. while the awarding ceremonies and raffle will be held during the evening program with dinner at 6:00 p.m. Named in honor of Paul Harris who founded the Rotary in 1905, this golfing event is much anticipated by members of the club and the golfing community. Some 80 to 100 golfers from all over the country gather yearly for the tournament. The Rotary Club has the following motto: “Service Above Self." The Paul Harris Cup has been instrumental in raising funds for the various social, charitable and humanitarian projects of the club. Each year, the proceeds of the tournament go to several charities that now include the following: Gawad Kalinga housing project in San Andres Bukid and Lipa City; Artificial Limb Project for disabled people; Stepping Stone Learning Center for special children of poor families; Hannibal School Foundation for children scavengers who cannot enroll in the regular schools; Chameleon Foundation home for abused women and children in Passi, Iloilo; Medical and Dental Missions in remote and blighted areas of the country; Rotary Community Corp and Rotaract Clubs for vocational, youth and community service; and RCMA’s Financial Assistance program for giving aid and support to deserving persons Other participating sponsors that made this year’s event possible are: Puratos, iMeal, YKK, Eight Forbes Town Road, Ericsson, Sheridan, VGS, Unionbank, Red Coconut Beach Hotel Boracay, Gendiesel Philippines, Transworld Marketing & Trading, Islandrose, and IPP Francis Ampil.
