The first Miss World Philippines 2011: She could be you!

Celebrating 60 years of bringing help and hope to hundreds of thousands in need, the Miss World Organization, the very first beauty pageant established in the world, has successfully positioned itself as a pageant with a purpose. In a timely twist of fate, this year also marks the dawn of a new beginning for Miss World in our country, as the very first Miss World Philippines shall be crowned in September at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). Truly, a national milestone worthy of respect and admiration. With much honor and privilege and taking inspiration from Miss World Limited’s theme “Beauty with a Purpose," country director, popular beauty and wellness advocate and civic leader Cory Quirino has adopted “Beauty in Giving" as the core value of the Philippine franchise where the Filipina will reap the noble benefits of her beauty by caring for the less fortunate women and children in the country through their corporate social responsibility advocacies and the pageant’s main beneficiaries Philippine General Hospital Medical Foundation and Tuloy Streetchildren Foundation. Since being awarded the exclusive license of Miss World Philippines in January 2011, Quirino has been at the forefront of the relentless search for aspiring candidates who have a big heart for service, beauty, intelligence and great love for country, among other attributes. Now on its final stretch, the nationwide searches covered Naga City, Cebu City, Manila, Pampanga and Davao, which already attracted over 100 aspirants. Next in line is Zamboanga City on July 9 and Vigan, Ilocos Sur on July 16 and off to the USA on July 23 in Glendale, California. Deadline for submission of application forms is on July 31, 2011. Already making waves in the beauty pageant industry, Miss World Philippines promises to change the landscape of beauty pageants by raising the prize money to an unprecedented P1M plus an SMDC Condo Unit. Whoever wins the much-coveted crown will make history for being the very first Filipina to be crowned Miss World Philippines. And she will always be remembered and honored as the very first.
