Check out the biggest one day multi-arts festival in the country, Pasinaya 2012, as it opens on Sunday, February 26, with a bevy of productions. For as low as 20 pesos, the public can see all they can from over a hundred performances from the nation’s different performing arts groups. More than two thousand artists from dance, music, theater, visual arts, literature and cinema will be taking part in the festivities. They will be led by the resident companies of the Cultural Center of the Philippines – the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the UST Symphony Orchestra, the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Tanghalang Pilipino, Bayanihan Philippines National Folk Dance Company, the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, Ballet Philippines, Philippine Ballet Theater
and the winners of the National Music Competitions for Young Artists.
The festival will be highlighted by a performance by Dinagyang’s Tribung Lunok of the Iloilo City National High School.
Every possible venue at the CCP is used – theaters, lobbys, hallways, promenade areas, the alley beside the Production Design Center and are “zoned” according to the genres of music, theater, dance, film, literature, visual arts, children and family, variety and
the artists market.
The event also features crash workshops, film screenings, visual arts exhibitions and activities for children. Discount coupons to selected shows at the CCP will be offered during the day.
Fast Passes will be on sale for Php200 each. These passes entitle holders priority places in line.
