Greenhills Shopping Center signals another festive Christmas celebration in Metro Manila with its landmark, 10th anniversary Christmas on Display (COD) presentation, which kicked off on November 16 2012.

The well-loved holiday tradition, Christmas on Display or COD, is now on its 10th year at Greenhills Shopping Center. Pushing the button to light up the tableau are Ortigas & Co. CEO Rowell Recinto, Ish Ortigas Montilla, Ignacio Ortigas, Jimmy Ortigas, San Juan Vice Mayor Francis Zamora, Basti Jose, Ludette Rosario, San Juan Mayor Guia Gomez, Cindy and son Julio Ejercito, Alex Rosario, and Bea of San Juan Day Care.
Dubbed Christmas on Planet Greenhills, the most awaited lights and mannequin show tells the story of a child going to a futuristic Planet Greenhills with her mother to visit her dad. In a very technologically advanced planet that is filled with surprises, they get toured around to find a lot of amazing beings, structures and contraptions.

The Christmas on Display has become a tradition that had its origins in the COD Department Store in Cubao.

Greenhills Shopping Center is now on its 10th year in mounting the show, still with brilliant design and orchestration by the Manila COD Team, led by Mr. Alex Rosario, who owned the COD Department Stores.

“Watching the COD is an almost six-decade well-loved tradition.  Now that it is entrusted to Greenhills Shopping Center, we see people from several generations—from those who first went to Cubao, to their kids, and grandchildren, come and witness a unique Christmas message in the form of a narrative,” says Cathy Casares-Ko, General Manager of Greenhills Shopping Center.

Every year, Greenhills Shopping Center opens the show with a party for about 400 kids from the Department of Social Welfare and Development – San Juan, and White Cross.  The kids are treated to an afternoon of fun, games, freebies, and a front row seat to watch Christmas on Display. This year, several cosplayers in the guise of the Superman, Wonderwoman, and Captain Jack Sparrow, among others, added more fun to the party.

Christmas on Display starts November 16 and will run daily until January 6, 2013. Each show lasts approximately 12 minutes, from 6:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m.. Admission is free.

“We are slowly transforming Greenhills Shopping Center into a complete hub for living, working, and playing. I hope this year’s COD will give a glimpse of that future where we will certainly have more attractions, tenants, parking, and a new residential feature, which is Viridian. For now, we invite everyone to celebrate Christmas with us,” concludes Ko.

Greenhills Shopping Center prides itself as being the heart great food, entertainment, and bargain shopping in Metro Manila. Along with the COD show is Greenhills’ signature Christmas Night Market (November 17, 2012 to January 6, 2013) and the Christmas Bangketa Fair (November 15, 2012 to January 7, 2013).
