Final-week events for the relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus announced

Devotees of the relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus announced Wednesday a series of events commemorating the final-week's stay of the relics in the Philippines before they are returned to the basilica in Lisieux, France. On Thursday, 5:30 p.m., there will be a welcome Mass when the relics are returned to the St. Therese Shrine in Pasay City from the Archdiocese of Manila. There will be a vigil at the shrine. There will be a candlelight procession on Saturday, April 13, 6 p.m. A farewell Mass will be held on Sunday, April 14, at 5 p.m. Most of the archbishops and bishops of the Philippines are expected to the attend the Mass. The reliquary arrived in the country for it's third-time visit last December 12, 2012. Since then it has visited 47 archdioceses and dioceses in the country. It was here for special events such as Christmas, Holy Week, the installation of Pope Francis and the celebration of St Therese's 140th birthday last January 4. — Nadz Ruiz/DVM, GMA News
