GMA News and Public Affairs receives recognition in the 1st BPSU Kagitingan Awards

After it brought home esteemed awards from different academes, GMA News and Public Affairs (NaPA), the country’s most awarded and most credible broadcast news organization, this time gained recognition from the country’s first and only state university in the province of Bataan.
A total of six awards were conferred to GMA Network for the “Pinaka-Magiting na Programang Pantelebisyon” by the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) through the Office of the Arts and Cultural Affairs in the recently concluded 1st BPSU Kagitingan Awards for Television held on the eve of the Araw ng Kagitingan, April 8, at the Plaza Mayor de Balanga, Bataan.
Leading the roster of Kapuso awardees are GMA-7’s weekly news magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho hosted by Jessica Soho, widely regarded as the most awarded broadcast journalist in the Philippines; Vicky Morales’ Wish Ko Lang, the country’s pioneering wish-granting program that features inspiring stories of ordinary Filipinos as they struggle to overcome extraordinary situations; I-Witness, the Network’s topnotch documentary program that presents thought-provoking stories by four of the country’s top documentarists; and investigative news magazine program Reporter’s Notebook hosted by senior reporters Jiggy Manicad and Maki Pulido.
Likewise, GMA News TV Channel 11’s public affairs program Reel Time, which was recently honored as the only Filipino program in the prestigious 72nd George Foster Peabody Awards for its documentary titled Salat (Bone Dry), was recognized as another Pinaka-Magiting na Programang Pantelebisyon.
Also included in the list winners is Philippine TV’s longest-running noontime variety show Eat Bulaga of GMA-7.
The BPSU-Kagitingan Awards for Television aims to create awareness among various TV programs that highlight bravery as an important component in maintaining social and personal values.  Press release from GMA Network, Inc.
