MakatiMed renames school

The college of nursing founded by Makati Medical Center has been recently renamed to Makati Medical Center College. The name change reflects the new direction that the school is taking, following the appointment of a new president and chief executive officer Ofelia Odilao-Bisnar, formerly with the Asian Institute of Management. The school now offers B.S. Psychology and B.S. Radiologic Technology alongside its long recognized specialization, B.S. Nursing. New and updated certificate courses and ICSEC-Kaplan review courses are also being offered. Nurse Managers Enhancement Program and other nursing specialized courses are in the pipeline. MakatiMed College’s diversified course offerings provide students with a holistic and globally competitive healthcare education and training. The College is renowned for its intensive, highly specialized education on B.S. Nursing. It has a Nursing Licensure Examinations (NLE) passing rate of over 90 percent and has produced board top placers. It is the lone base school of Makati Medical Center, a premier hospital in the country and one of Asia’s top medical research and training facilities. The College is a member of Metro Pacific Investment Corp.’s hospital group and education network. MakatiMed College was established in 1975 as a division of Makati Medical Center.
