BDO Unibank, Inc. (BDO) has received three major awards and a special citation at the recently held 10th BSP Stakeholders’ Awards.

BDO president Nestor V. Tan (2nd from left), together with head for transaction banking Emmanuel T. Narciso (center) and head for remittance distribution Geneva T. Gloria (2nd from right), received the awards from BSP governor Tetangco (rightmost) and Monetary Board member Armando L. Suratos (leftmost).
The Bank was a recipient of the Outstanding PhilPaSS REMIT Participant, Outstanding PhilPaSS Participant Servicing Customer ePayment-Commercial Bank and the Outstanding Partner for Children’s Savings Mobilization Campaign Awards. A special citation was also given for being a Hall of Fame awardee in the category of the Top Commercial Bank in Generating Remittance from Overseas Filipinos, an accolade BDO has won for three consecutive years – 2008, 2009 and 2010.

BSP recognized BDO’s remarkable performance “in terms of volume, frequency and value of remittances and Customer ePayments transactions sent to Philippine Payments and Settlements System (PhilPaSS) for processing and settlement.” It also cited the Bank’s consistent initiative “in developing the habit of saving among children through the Banking on Your Future Kiddie Account Program."

“The resurgent economy and stable financial system we now enjoy were not achieved single-handedly by any one institution. These are the outcome of fruitful partnerships built through the years and the result of collaborative work aimed at building better lives for our countrymen,” said BSP governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr., who led the awarding ceremony, that also coincided with BSP’s 20th anniversary.
