St. Luke’s Heart Institute celebrates 27th year

St. Luke’s Medical Center’s Heart Institute in Quezon City will be celebrating its 27th Anniversary this year with a series of activities beginning August 5 under the theme “Integration of Newer Cardiac Modalities in Clinical Decision Making and Management.”

 

The opening ceremonies on August 5 at the St. Luke’s-Quezon City Cathedral Heights Building Complex (CHBC) Auditorium 1 include ribbon–cutting and welcome remarks to be led by Institute Head Dr. Danilo Kuizon and the introduction of the HB Calleja Awardee to be delivered by St. Luke’s President and CEO Dr. Edgardo R. Cortez.

 

Six St. Luke’s Heart Institute Pioneers will also be honored during the program. These include Dr. Romeo Saavedra, Dr. William Chua, dr. Antonio Sibulo, Jr., Dr. Fatima Collado, Dr. Danilo Kuizon and Dr. Jose Yulde. Keynote speaker will be Heart Institute Director Emeritus Dr. Homobono B. Calleja.

 

On August 7, a lay forum about hypertension, diabetes and healthy lifestyle titled “Be Careful With My Heart” will be held, followed by a two-day postgraduate course “8th Cardiovascular Symposium” at the Luxent Hotel in Timog Avenue, Quezon City on August 8 to 9.

 

An Open Heart Fellowship Night and Benefit Show takes place on August 10 at Crossroads in Panay Avenue, Quezon City. This will feature entertainment numbers by Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, Rachel Alejandro, the Fashion Designers Alliance Manila and St. Luke’s Heart Institute Talents. The anniversary celebration will be capped with the HB Calleja Golf Cup in Canlubang, Laguna on August 14.
