The two-day event will feature three (3) programs: 41st Nihongo Speech Contest, 6th Quiz Bee - Nihongo for High School Students and Nihongo Fiesta Film Mania.
The 41st Nihongo Speech Contest gathers Filipino students and non- professionals from all over the country to prove their excellence in the Japanese language through speech. An all-expense paid week-long study tour in Japan awaits the Champion and the Outstanding Performance Awardee. It will be on February 22 (Saturday) at 10:30 am. The 6th Quiz Bee – Nihongo for High School Students brings together high schools from Metro Manila as well as other regions to best each other in a game of knowledge of Japanese language and culture. The quiz bee will be held on the same day at 3:30 pm. Both events will be held at the Cinema 1 (6th Level) of the Shang Cineplex, Shangri-La Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City.
Nihongo Fiesta Film Mania is a 2-day film festival featuring the following films: Miyazaki Hayao’s Howl’s Moving Castle, Brave Story, King of Thorn, The Voices of a Distant Star and ROBO-G. The screenings will be held on February 22-23 (Saturday & Sunday) at the Premiere Theater (6th Level) and Cinema 1 of the Shang Cineplex.
The 2013 Nihongo Fiesta is supported by the Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Shang Cineplex, Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the Embassy of Japan, Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines, Inc. (JCCIPI), The Japanese Association Manila (JAMI), Japan Overseas Enterprises Association (JOEA), Association of Filipino Nihongo Teachers (AFINITE), Nihon Kenyu Kai (NKK) of the De La Salle University – Manila and the Bunka Koryu Kai (BKK) of the Adamson University.
