Ateneo dominates ACM-ICPC Philippine National Programming Competition


Four teams from the Ateneo de Manila University recently dominated the Association for Computing Machinery - Inter-Collegiate Programming Competition (ACM ICPC) Philippine National Programming Competition 2014 held at the Ateneo de Naga University. 
 
The teams from the Ateneo Programming Varsity of the Department of Information Systems and Computer Science bested 31 other teams from other schools throughout the country. The Nationals was a 5-hour contest in which teams were expected to solve 10 problems.
 
Team “Fuschia Moth,” composed of David Martin Cuajunco (2Ma-AMF), Kyle Stephen See (3CS), and Jose Enrico Tiongson (2CS), ranked first with 10/10 problems solved in 2 hours. Team “Operator,” composed of Job Eliezek Bangayan (4CS), Jaren Ryan Rex (3Ps), Gabriel, and Alberto Sanchez (4CS), ranked second with all 10/10 problems solved. Team “Carmiel,” composed of Jan Amiel Reveche (4CS), Camille Marie Ruiz (4CS), and Charlene Kate Tolentino (4CS), ranked fourth with 8/10 problems solved. Team “Bumblebee,” composed of Hadrian Jules Ang (3CS), Miguel Jesus Palma (3CS) and Vermille Ann Saw (3CS), ranked fifth with 8/10 problems solved. 
 
The teams were coached by Vernon Gutierrez, Janssen Marwin Go, Jonathan Wong, Carlo Francisco Adajar and managed by Jessica Sugay and David Diy.
