UE extends P1,000 college tuition down payment offer until June 15, 2026
The University of the East (UE) has extended its P1,000 tuition down payment offer for incoming college freshmen until June 15, 2026 for school year 2026-2027 to give more students greater leeway in pursuing their education amid the economic difficulties.
UE President and Chief Academic Officer Zosimo Battad said, “This extension reflects our commitment to providing our aspiring college students greater access to education.”
Under the revised enrollment policy, incoming freshmen may enroll with an initial payment of P1,000 until June 15, 2026, subject to documentary and academic requirements. Qualified applicants will likewise no longer be required to take the UE College Entrance Test for the coming academic year, eliminating the need to travel to UE campuses and helping reduce additional expenses for applicants.
UE earlier announced that it would maintain current tuition rates across all academic programs for all year levels for the coming school year despite rising operational costs.
Enrollment for incoming first-year college students opened in the first week of May, ahead of the university’s regular enrollment calendar. UE college classes for school year 2026-2027 are set to begin on July 23, 2026.
The UE entrance test waiver applies to graduates of public and private senior high schools, subject to compliance with documentary and academic requirements for admission.
UE offers undergraduate programs through its Manila and Caloocan campuses in disciplines that include engineering, business, dentistry, architecture, psychology, information technology, fine arts, and medical technology.
Meanwhile, the university has also extended the P1,000 enrollment down payment offer for basic education enrollees in K1, K2, Grade 1, Grade 7 and Grade 11 until July 1, 2026.
Applications may be submitted online through https://apps.ue.edu.ph/ or at the admissions offices of its Manila and Caloocan campuses from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
UE currently ranks no. 5 among Philippine private universities in Asia in the Applied Higher Education Private University Ranking: All Asia. It also ranks no. 6 in Manila and no. 16 in the Philippines based on EduRank.org.
Founded in 1946, the university once held the highest enrollment record among all universities in Asia and will mark its 80th founding anniversary this September.
