Google is now working on a new service that aims to help people discover and share things to do in the offline world.
Dubbed "Schemer," the new service - currently in beta - seeks to facilitate any activity one would want to do jointly with other peoplee.
"Schemer is based on a simple yet powerful concept: schemes. A scheme is any activity you’d like to do," according to a Google+ post by the service's engineers.
Participants can select “I want to do it” to save the scheme for later and let friends know one is interested in a particular activity.
Once finished doing a scheme, one can select “I’ve done it.”
"Schemer will record it in your list of accomplishments and other schemers will be able to learn from your experiences. Over time, Schemer will recommend new schemes tailored to your interests and help you do the things you want to do," it said.
The Schemer team has hooked up with some "accomplices" such as:
- Bravo
- Entertainment Weekly
- Food Network
- GeekDad / GeekMom
- Idealist
- IGN
- Lifehacker
- National Geographic
- Outside
- Parenting.com
- Real Simple
- Rolling Stone
- Southern Living
- Time Out
- Thrillist
- US Department of the Interior
- Zagat
But Schemer is currently in beta and available by invite only. Users can request an invite at www.schemer.com and add them on Google+. — TJD, GMA News
