Google+ launches meme generator

Here's a silly new feature for Google's social network Google+ that just might be a big boon for social media-loving Pinoys and the recently-launched #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines meme campaign.  

 

 

Google+ is now rolling out a photo caption tool that its engineers said can get people rolling on the floor laughing.

 

"This feature will be rolling out over the next few days -- I hope you enjoy it! :) We'll be keeping our eyes on the stream for the funniest examples, so have fun!" senior software engineer Colin McMillen said in a Google+ post.

 

McMillen said the feature that makes it easier to add big, bold text on top of one's photos.

 

To use the feature, a Google+ user can drop a photo into the sharebox on Google+, then click the "Add text" button underneath the photo.

 

"Type in something funny, then share and enjoy," he said.

 

A separate article on tech site CNET noted the new tool includes the "LOLcat" font.

 

"OK, so maybe it won't dent Facebook's dominance, but it could help with photo captions such as when parents want to put words in their babies' mouths. And maybe it'll provide a creative outlet for those who miss the Cheezburger Network during its SOPA blackout protest," CNET said. — TJD, GMA News
