Instagram profiles now viewable via web

Say bye bye to Webstagram! Instagram just announced this morning on its Twitter account that it will be rolling out Instagram web profiles over the next few days.

Once the web profiles are ready for everyone, you may check out your Instagram profile or explore a friend's profile by simply typing instagram.com/[username]. Unlike before, Instagram profiles can only be viewed using mobile devices where the app is installed or by using a third party app such as Webstagram. However, uploading photos is still focused on mobile devices and is not yet available via web. 

 

The new web profiles are sporting a somewhat Facebook Timeline look with the user's uploaded photos just above the display picture and details mimicking Facebook's cover photo.
